  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

Slice each chicken breast horizontally to make two thin cutlets.
Season both sides with salt and pepper.

Step 2: Bread the Chicken

Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls:

  • Bowl 1: Flour
  • Bowl 2: Beaten eggs
  • Bowl 3: Breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese
    Dip each chicken cutlet into the flour, then the egg, and finally coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture.

Step 3: Cook the Chicken

Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Cook the breaded chicken cutlets for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

Step 4: Assemble and Bake

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Place cooked chicken cutlets in a baking dish.
Spoon marinara sauce evenly over each piece and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
